Terms and conditions

These terms apply when you book lessons or use italycultura.com. Please read them before booking. By booking, you accept them.

1. Who I am

In these terms, “I” means Italy Cultura and “you” means the student.

2. What I offer

  • One-on-one online Italian lessons on Google Meet: a 25-minute trial lesson, 55-minute lessons, and packages of 10 lessons. Longer lessons are available on request.
  • Free content on the website: articles, videos, the level test, the free guide and the newsletter.
  • Training for companies (public speaking, Italian language and business culture), offered by individual quote. A separate agreement applies to company training.

Lessons are for adults (18 and over) only.

3. Prices and payment

  • Prices are shown in US dollars on the website and on the booking page. The price you see is the price you pay: there is nothing extra to pay at checkout.
  • All lessons are paid in advance, when you book, by card (Stripe) or PayPal.
  • If you continue after the trial lesson, the $25 trial price comes back as a discount, as explained on the website.
  • If I raise my prices, lessons and packages you have already paid keep their price.

4. How a booking works

  1. You choose a lesson and a time on my booking page.
  2. You fill in the form, accept these terms and the student policies, and pay.
  3. You receive a confirmation email. At that moment our agreement is made.
    The confirmation email includes these terms and the student policies, so you can keep a copy.

5. Student policies

These rules are part of these terms.

  1. Payment. All lessons are paid in advance, when you book.
  2. Cancelling or rescheduling. You can cancel or reschedule for free up to 24 hours before your lesson. With less than 24 hours’ notice, the lesson is charged in full. Real emergencies happen: once, I’ll let you reschedule without charge.
  3. Being late. Lessons start and end on time. If you are late, the lesson still ends at the scheduled time. After 15 minutes without news, I’ll consider the lesson missed and it is charged in full.
  4. If I need to cancel. If I ever have to cancel or move a lesson, you can reschedule for free or get a full refund.
  5. Technology. Please make sure your internet, camera and microphone work before class. If the problem is on my side, I’ll make up the lost time.
  6. Packages. Package lessons are valid for 8 months from purchase. The expiry date is in your purchase email, and I’ll send you a reminder one month before it. Packages are personal: they can’t be shared or transferred. Unused lessons can be refunded; used or missed lessons cannot. If my prices go up, the packages you’ve already bought keep their price.
  7. Trial lesson. One trial lesson per student. Repeat trial bookings are cancelled and refunded.
  8. Adults only. Lessons are for adults (18 and over) only. I don’t teach children or teenagers, with no exceptions.
  9. Respect. Lessons are friendly and relaxed, and also professional. Inappropriate comments or behavior end the lesson immediately, without refund. Please contact me only through the official channels (email or booking platform).
  10. Materials. Lesson materials are for your personal use. Please don’t share or resell them. Lessons are not recorded unless we both agree.
  11. Changes. If these rules change, the version in place when you booked applies to that booking.

6. Right of withdrawal (students in the European Union)

If you live in the EU and book as a consumer, you have the right to withdraw from the agreement within 14 days of booking, without giving a reason. – To withdraw, send me a clear statement by email (info@italycultura.com). You can use the form at the end of these terms, but you don’t have to. – I will refund all payments within 14 days of receiving your request, using the same payment method. – If your lesson is within those 14 days, the booking form asks you to confirm: “I ask for my lesson to start before the 14-day withdrawal period ends, and I understand I lose the right to withdraw once the lesson has taken place.” After a lesson has fully taken place, you can no longer withdraw from that lesson. – For packages: if you withdraw within 14 days, I refund the package minus the lessons you have already taken, counted at the package price ($57 per lesson).
This right also applies to sole traders in Poland who book for themselves when the lessons are not part of their professional activity.
Students outside the EU: the cancellation and refund rules in section 5 apply.

7. Free content, newsletter and the website

  • To use the website you need an up-to-date browser and an internet connection. To get the newsletter or the free guide, you need an email address.
  • The free guide and the newsletter are free of charge. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in every email.
  • Please don’t post or send anything illegal or offensive through the website’s forms.
  • All content on the website (texts, videos, exercises, the level test, the free guide, the design) is my work or used with permission. You may use it for your own learning. You may not copy, sell or republish it without my written permission.
  • The level test gives an estimate of your level, not an official certificate.

8. Complaints

If something isn’t right, please write to info@italycultura.com and tell me what happened and what you would like me to do. I will answer complaints within 14 days. If you live in the EU, you can also contact your national consumer organization for free advice and out-of-court solutions.

9. Responsibility

I always do my best to help you learn, but progress also depends on your practice, so I can’t guarantee a specific result or exam outcome. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under the law that applies to you.

10. Applicable law

These terms are governed by Polish law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live.

11. Changes to these terms

I may update these terms. The version in place when you booked applies to that booking. The current version is always on this page.
